Getting to Tapijn

The old army barracks at the southern edge of the Stadspark, where the Jeker slips past the city wall. If your walk ends somewhere that pretty, you're in the right place.
This is the place
From the station, on foot
About 25 minutes, completely flat, and it happens to be the prettiest walk in town. Follow your nose, or follow this:
- Out of the station, walk straight ahead down Stationsstraat, towards the river.
- Just before the old stone bridge, turn left and follow the bank to the Hoge Brug, the high arched footbridge.
- Cross the Maas and keep left along the river, heading south past the old city wall.
- Slip into the Stadspark and follow the little river Jeker through it. The brick barracks on the far side are Tapijn; head for the terrace at number 20.
Rather not navigate? Any taxi at the station knows Tapijn, and the ride is about ten minutes.
Every other way in
By car
Tapijn sits at the edge of the car-light city centre, so parking next door is scarce. Aim for a city-centre garage and enjoy the last stretch through the park on foot.
From further afield
Trains run direct to Maastricht from much of the Netherlands and from Liège. Flying in? Eindhoven, Brussels, Düsseldorf and Cologne are the usual gateways, each a train ride away.
When you arrive
Doors open at 15:00 with coffee and tea waiting; the programme starts at 15:30. Come to the entrance at Tapijnkazerne 20 and we'll take it from there.
